The Windowcard specializes in erudite coverage of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre, offering reviews, video and print interviews, appreciations, major theatre awards predictions, and articles on television and film. Inspired aesthetically by the vintage Broadway posters of the 1940s and 1950s and by their standard 14×22″ size – which is almost identical to the front page of a newspaper – The Windowcard is dedicated to long-form, in-depth theatre writing and methods of literary analysis and cultural criticism.

David Buchanan, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Windowcard, has over a decade of theater journalism experience at Gold Derby, where he continues to conduct interviews, contribute Tony Awards predictions, and co-write the “Tony Talk” column. He received his Ph.D. in English, specializing in modern drama, from the University of Pennsylvania. He has published a review of The Hills of California in Theatre Journal and of Alisa Zhulina’s monograph Theater of Capital: Modern Drama and Economic Life in Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism.
